Taking articles from multiple subdivided tray systems (multi-trays) can lead to errors made by the order picker even if the position of parts to be taken is indicated on a monitor. A drew from the wrong tray taking a wrong component or article can result in awkward consequences such as cost intense claims, reworking, replacements or even a loss of image. The order picker needs a visual aid which clearly guides him and shows from which tray goods have to be picked.

A laser projector - LP are available either with a red or green laser source - (mounted vertically above the picking location) shows the order picker clearly the tray to take parts from by projection of a rectangle or a cross on the tray. Moreover, the projector can project numbers, characters or text. This allows for example to show the order picker the name of the article, the article number or the number of parts to take.

The application “Put-to-light” is also possible. To-bin transfer of parts can be supported by showing the order picker the tray and the number of parts to be stored. The projector can also be used in assembly lines or for packing applications showing for example the number of screws to be attached or the number of missing parts to be packed.
