Many problems that occur during the operation of the laser systems are simple to rectify. We have compiled frequently asked questions that may help you fix your problem quickly.

Your query:
Laser line is becoming increasingly weaker or blurred 
Possible cause:Dirty/soiled optical window
Course of action:The optical windows have a special anti-reflection coating which should be cleansed carefully with a cotton bud and cleaning spirits. Please do not using aggressive cleaning products.



Your query:
No laser beam 
Possible cause:
  1. Instable power supply or defective external fuse
  2. Insufficient power supply
  3. Faulty positioning of the beam
  4. Plug is not connected to a power supply unit or has a loose screw connection
  5. High temperature has caused the overheat protection to activate
  6. End of diode lifetime
Course of action:Check, if the green control lamp is flashing
If not, please replace the external fuse:
Z...PT family 20mW  500mAT;
Z...RG family 20mW  1AT
Our recommendation:We recommend you use a magnetic stabiliser

  1. Please check the laser has enough power supply.
  2. Please ensure with Z...A families to: remove switch, cleanse and attach correctly.
  3. Please check the positioning of the laser beam
  4. Insert the connecting plug into power supply unit, switch off power supply and let the unit cool off.



Your query:
Noises occur during operation/ flickering of the laser light 
Possible cause:Instable power supply or power supply unit
Course of action:Test the battery/power supply. If there is no improvement, please send us your equipment.
Our recommendation:We recommend you use a magnetic stabiliser.



Your query:
Curved projection line 
Possible cause:
  1. Optik on the HeNe-laser is out of calibration
  2. Diode on the diode laser is defective
Course of action:Please contact our service team.



Your query:
ZPT family: split laser line 
Possible cause:Defect diode due to instable power supply
Course of action:Test the battery/power supply. If there is no improvement, please send us your equipment.
Our recommendation:We recommend you use a magnetic stabiliser.



Your query:
ZPT family: laser switches itself off and then back on after a short while. 
Possible cause:

The laser's ambient temperature is too high. The integrated cooling system will switch off automatically at 40°.

Course of action:Shield the laser from possible heat sources. Do not expose to direct sunlight.

Problems with the laser projectors 
Possible cause:

Due to its complex technology and multi-faceted areas of application, general error analysis can take place with our laser projectors.

Course of action:Should you experience problems with our laser projectors please send an email to our service team. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
